In December 2020, Cpl. Jon Joubert used excessive force during the arrest of 64-year-old Gretta Jensen. Body camera footage shows Joubert punching Jensen in the face while she was on the ground, resulting in a fractured jaw and other injuries. An internal investigation found his actions unreasonable and unnecessary, leading to a written reprimand and a remedial defensive tactics class. Jensen filed a $1 million federal lawsuit alleging violation of her constitutional rights due to excessive force. Joubert disagreed with the findings, maintaining his actions were reasonable and necessary.
