In May 2013, Officer Daniel Jalomos was suspended following a citizen’s complaint. However, due to procedural errors by the police chief, including failing to file a written statement with the civil service commission within the required timeframe and not providing Jalomos with a copy of the statement, the suspension was overturned. The hearing examiner reinstated Jalomos, citing the department’s failure to comply with statutory mandates.
