Former Sergeant David Tammaro was arrested in October 2018 on 87 counts of second-degree forgery, accused of forging supervisors’ signatures on overtime requests. The charges were later dismissed after Tammaro received accelerated rehabilitation. In August 2020, Tammaro filed a lawsuit against the city and Police Chief Joseph Perno, alleging negligence and deprivation of constitutional rights related to the handling of his case. As of January 2023, Tammaro also filed a lawsuit seeking access to a disability pension, claiming his application had been ignored since his retirement in August 2018.
