Sergeant Dennis Cordner was present during multiple instances of racial harassment directed at Officer Anthony Brazzle between 2006 and 2008. He witnessed fellow officers referring to Mr. Brazzle as ‘Black-A-Nator’ and was aware of other derogatory comments but failed to take corrective action. This inaction contributed to a hostile work environment, leading to a lawsuit filed by Mr. Brazzle against Washington City in 2009. The case, Brazzle v. Washington City, was documented in 2013.
