Deputy Brendan Trujillo was involved in a January 2018 shooting incident during a welfare check at Travis James Tolan’s residence. Trujillo and another deputy approached Tolan’s home without activating lights or sirens. When Tolan opened the door holding a handgun, the deputies fired, hitting him in the abdomen.
