On August 27, 2010, Deputy Mayle arrested Paul O’Brien at his residence without a warrant after O’Brien declined to speak with him. O’Brien was charged with obstruction, spent two nights in jail, and the charge was dropped approximately three months later. A complaint was filed against Deputy Mayle, but no response was received from the department.
