In August 2020, Deputy Martin, along with Deputy Jordan A. Horn, was accused of racial profiling and harassment against African-American residents Donnie and Ventriss Hairston. Martin allegedly accused the Hairstons of growing marijuana plants found on a nearby property, detained them without probable cause, and forcibly entered their home.
