On September 27, 2007, Deputy Erin Joyce participated in the decontamination process of Deputies Jane Doe and Brian Szumski after a flea infestation. Doe filed a lawsuit alleging invasion of privacy and emotional distress. The court found that Joyce’s involvement did not constitute a constitutional violation but noted the unprofessional nature of the incident.
