In 2014, Deputy Jacob Streeter was charged with negligent manslaughter after traveling at 108 mph without emergency lights or sirens and typing into his onboard computer, resulting in a fatal crash. He pleaded no contest in July 2015, receiving two years of probation and a $250 fine. Despite the incident, Streeter continued employment with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. A federal lawsuit related to the crash was settled for $500,000, to be paid through increased property taxes over three years.
