In April 2015, Deputy James Harris was involved in an incident with plaintiff Pierce, who alleged excessive force during an arrest. Pierce claimed that Harris and another deputy dragged him out of his vehicle, threw him to the ground, and kicked him while he was handcuffed. Pierce filed a lawsuit alleging excessive force and inadequate medical care. The court dismissed some claims but allowed others to proceed, indicating ongoing litigation regarding Harris’s conduct during the arrest.
