    Deputy Verse participated in the August 11, 2000 incident involving inmate Douglas Richer. Verse assisted in restraining Richer, who later alleged excessive force in a lawsuit against Verse and other deputies. The court denied summary judgment for Verse, allowing the excessive force claim to proceed.
