Involved in a bribery and extortion scheme since 2017, collaborating with defense attorney Thomas Clear III and private investigator Ricardo Mendez to intentionally miss court appearances for DWI cases, leading to case dismissals. Admitted to receiving at least $20,000 in cash or gifts in exchange for his participation. Resigned from BCSO and pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit extortion, two counts of extortion, and two counts of bribery in February 2025.
