Deputy Jose Villasenor is one of five plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit filed in February 2025, alleging a ‘law-enforcement gang’ operating within the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office. The lawsuit claims that Villasenor and others faced retaliation for reporting misconduct, discrimination, and unsafe practices within the department. The complaint describes the TCSO as having a ‘tremendous sexual discrimination problem’ and a ‘significant issue with retaliation.’ The case is pending as of March 2025.
