Deputy Floyd had a history of misconduct leading to terminations or resignations from multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. Allegations against him included bribery, excessive use of force, false arrests, falsifying police reports, planting drugs, sexual assault, and intimidating directives to other officers. In 2013, while serving with the Crestview Police Department, he was convicted on racketeering charges and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
