On February 17, 2022, Deputy Alvarado failed to respond to a 911 call reporting gunfire on Ozark Road in Newville, Alabama. Despite being informed of the situation, he remarked, ‘They are always shooting over on Ozark Road,’ and did not take action. This inaction allegedly contributed to the subsequent shooting death of Brittney Corbitt. A lawsuit was filed against Deputy Alvarado and the Henry County Commission, alleging violations of civil rights and failure to provide equal emergency services. The case is documented in Corbitt v. Henry Cnty. Comm’n, 1:22-CV-693-RAH-KFP. ([casetext.com](https://casetext.com/case/corbitt-v-henry-cnty-commn?utm_source=openai))
