Deputy Malphurs was arrested in September 2023 on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a minor under the age of 12. The investigation began in April 2021 after a complaint was filed. Malphurs was placed on administrative leave during the investigation and was terminated from the sheriff’s office upon its conclusion.
