    In January 2024, Deputy Kraft was named in a federal civil rights lawsuit filed by Tristan Kirk Assance, alleging violations of the Fourth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments. The lawsuit claims that during a 2021 incident, Kraft deployed a Taser on Assance, who was allegedly unarmed at the time. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages for permanent injuries and emotional distress resulting from the shooting.
