In May 2021, Deputy McClure was involved in an incident where he used a taser multiple times on John and James Hall during a road rage investigation. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office conducted a review and determined that Deputy McClure failed to comply with Gooding County Sheriff’s Office policy during the incident. Consequently, he was placed on administrative leave and subsequently resigned from the department. The Halls filed a lawsuit alleging excessive force and emotional distress.
