In 2015, Deputy Wudtke resigned following an investigation into his unauthorized recording of a meeting with supervisors using a pen-camera. The investigation revealed that he downloaded the recordings onto his county-issued computer and deleted several files. Concerns about his trustworthiness led to an internal investigation. Facing potential termination, Wudtke opted to resign effective June 5, 2015, but submitted his resignation immediately on March 19, 2015, after the county seized his equipment and denied him access to the office.
