In 2016, Deputy Witten arrested Joe and Linda Evans after a search of their pawn shop led to the discovery of controlled substances and a stolen firearm. The charges against Joe Evans were later dismissed, and Linda Evans’ charges resulted in a ‘no true bill’ from the grand jury. The Evanses filed a lawsuit against Deputy Witten and others, alleging violations of their constitutional rights.
