In March 2015, Deputy Shane Humbird was arrested by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office for corporal injury to his spouse and booked into the county jail. Although the District Attorney did not file criminal charges due to insufficient evidence for a conviction, the Sheriff’s Office concluded that battery had occurred and that Humbird had lied about the incident. Consequently, Deputy Humbird was terminated from his position.
