In May 2019, Deputy Sharpe was accused of excessive force during the arrest of Wesley Pryor. Allegations include kneeing Pryor in the back, pulling him up by his arms causing wrist injuries, and ignoring his pleas when his toe was caught in the patrol car door. Pryor filed a lawsuit in April 2020 alleging excessive force and denial of medical care.
