Deputy Sheriff Anthony Tedesco filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination and retaliation after his unsuccessful bids for the position of Mercer County Sheriff. Tedesco claimed that following his 2019 campaign against Deputy Sheriff Bruce Rosa, he was removed from the Mercer County Critical Incident Response Team without explanation. After his 2023 campaign against Deputy Sheriff Tim Callahan, who won the election, Tedesco was suspended with pay on January 2, 2024, the day Callahan was sworn in. He was subsequently terminated without being provided a reason. Tedesco alleges that his termination was in retaliation for his political activities and campaigns for sheriff. The lawsuit seeks reinstatement, back pay, and damages for emotional distress and loss of reputation.
