On October 27, 2021, Deputy Sheriff George Volpe was involved in the arrest of Paul Giammarinaro, who had turned himself in on an outstanding bench warrant. During the arrest, Giammarinaro alleges that excessive force was used, resulting in a fractured arm. A lawsuit filed on October 23, 2023, in federal court claims that Volpe, along with other deputies, violated Giammarinaro’s constitutional rights by employing unreasonable force during the arrest. The case is currently pending, and no disciplinary actions or outcomes have been publicly disclosed as of now.
