On March 1, 2020, Deputy Sheriff Merria, along with Officers Pryce, Sirles, and Shaver, allegedly used excessive force against Timothy Lalonde, a blind man, during an arrest. Lalonde suffered multiple injuries, including brain damage, a broken left wrist, and a torn rotator cuff. A lawsuit was filed against Merria and others, alleging violations of Lalonde’s constitutional rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The case is documented in Lalonde v.
