In January 2020, Deputy Worley misidentified and wrongfully arrested Maurice Grant, holding him at gunpoint and detaining him for two nights. The arrest was intended for another individual with the same name. Grant faced criminal charges for over three years before the case was dismissed in February 2023. A lawsuit was filed against Worley and the Sheriff’s Office in October 2023.
