In January 2020, Deputy Woodall was involved in the arrest of Mr. Reynolds, who was charged with disorderly conduct. During the arrest, Woodall tased Reynolds twice: first as Reynolds was beginning to comply by kneeling, and second while Reynolds was on the ground and surrounded by multiple officers. The court found that a reasonable jury could conclude that both instances constituted excessive force, as Reynolds was unarmed, compliant, and posed no immediate threat. The case, Reynolds v. Calhoun, is documented in CIVIL ACT. 1:21-cv-649-ECM (WO).
