In 2020, Deputy Wyatt Rhoden was accused by inmate Maldonado of retaliatory actions, including denial of telephone access and law library time, allegedly in response to Maldonado’s grievances and lawsuits against the Baker County Sheriff’s Office. Maldonado also claimed that Rhoden threatened to place him in a restraint chair for filing grievances. However, the court found insufficient evidence to support these claims, and summary judgment was granted in favor of Deputy Rhoden.
