Over the past decade, the Paducah Police Department has faced several incidents involving officer misconduct. Notably, in 2015, Officer Michael Redmon was terminated for excessive use of force. In 2007, Officers Tim Reed and David White were implicated in a lawsuit alleging wrongful arrest and refusal to file a citizen’s complaint. In 2018, Officer Chelsea Breakthrough was sued for conducting an illegal search leading to a false conviction. These cases highlight issues related to use of force, citizen complaint handling, and adherence to legal procedures within the department.
