In 2021, there were seven civilian complaints of police misconduct, none of which were ruled in favor of civilians. The department has faced lawsuits alleging gender discrimination and hostile work environments. Additionally, the department has been involved in two killings by police from 2013 to 2021, with 50% of those killed being unarmed.
