Douglas Martin Key, a former Sergeant and Field Commander of the Drug Task Force, was demoted and subsequently terminated by Sheriff Ana Franklin in 2011. Key alleged that his demotion and termination were without cause and violated due process. He filed a lawsuit against the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Franklin, claiming wrongful termination and violation of his constitutional rights. [Source: Justia, April 12, 2012]
