Officer Dustin Dean was reprimanded for firing non-lethal pepper rounds at a WAVE-TV news crew during the 2020 protests following Breonna Taylor’s death. In November 2024, body camera footage revealed that Dean had also fired non-lethal projectiles at protesters, including individuals walking away and those holding signs. This led to a new investigation into his actions.
