In February 2015, Probationary Officer Eduardo Sanchez resigned in lieu of termination after an internal affairs investigation into a fatal shooting. The investigation found that Sanchez had developed a habit of using his cell phone for communication instead of police radios, which was considered improper. Consequently, he resigned from the department.
