Officer Edward Dexter was involved in a 2012 incident where he responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenants. Despite the landlord making explicit threats, Dexter did not take preventive action. Shortly after, the landlord shot and killed two tenants. A lawsuit alleged that Dexter’s inaction contributed to the tragedy, but he was granted qualified immunity in 2024.
