In 2004, Sergeant Edward Pelletier was charged with conduct unbecoming an officer for making unauthorized and inappropriate comments during roll call briefings and failing to properly secure his department-issued firearm, which was left unattended on a desk. A Hearing Committee found him guilty and imposed a demotion from the rank of Sergeant to uniformed patrol officer.
