Elizabeth Myers, a former corrections officer, filed a lawsuit in September 2021 alleging she was sexually harassed by a male co-worker during her three-year tenure at the Knox County Jail. The harassment included inappropriate comments, physical contact, and an incident where the co-worker cornered her in a closet. Myers reported the behavior to supervisors, but no action was taken. She was later terminated after complaining about the harassment. In May 2022, Knox County settled the lawsuit by paying Myers $86,500 without admitting liability.
