    In September 2018, Officer Enrique Sosa was arrested in Massachusetts for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and assaulting her with a knife. He was subsequently terminated from the Woonsocket Police Department. In December 2023, the city agreed to pay Sosa $500,000 to settle a legal battle over his termination, after a Superior Court judge ruled that the city violated the Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights in his dismissal.
