On September 24, 2021, Sgt. Eric Huxley kicked a handcuffed man, Jermaine Vaughn, in the face during an arrest at Monument Circle. Huxley pleaded guilty to violating Vaughn’s civil rights and was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison on September 8, 2023.
