In December 2023, Officer Erich Mayr was terminated after an investigation revealed he commanded his K-9 to attack an innocent man hiding in bushes on June 16, 2023. The man, not suspected of any crime, sustained injuries from the dog bite. Mayr was also found to have failed to activate his body camera during the incident and provided misleading information during the investigation.
