In October 2022, former Deputy Erick Rossi was convicted of sexual battery after a woman reported that she woke up to Rossi kissing her face, groping her breast, and sliding his hand down her pants while she was sleeping on a friend’s couch in Livermore. Rossi was sentenced to three years probation, ordered to pay a $300 restitution fine, and required to register as a sex offender. In June 2023, he was placed on the state’s decertification list, temporarily suspending his peace officer certification.
