Officer Erik Andersen was involved in multiple incidents of misconduct during his tenure with the Post Falls Police Department. In January 2005, he was verbally reprimanded for inappropriate force during the arrest of Bradley Platt, who subsequently filed a $500,000 lawsuit against the city for injuries sustained during the arrest. Andersen was also suspended for three days for insubordination and retaliation against co-workers involved in internal investigations. In March 2006, he was accused of threatening a motorist with a Taser during a traffic stop, leading to his termination in May 2006.
