    In November 2020, Officer Sellie assaulted detainee John Mannarino in an unsupervised room at the Schenectady County Jail, resulting in Mannarino suffering six broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a collapsed lung. Sellie was indicted on two counts of felony assault and one count of official misconduct. He was terminated from his position following the incident. The county settled a federal lawsuit with Mannarino for $562,500.
