In July 2017, Deputy Frank Brown was arrested for falsely reporting a shooting incident. Brown claimed that while attempting to stop a motorcyclist, the individual fired two shots, one striking him in the chest area. An extensive investigation by the Kentucky State Police revealed that the bullet retrieved from Brown’s vest came from his own firearm, and his injuries were inconsistent with being shot while wearing a bulletproof vest. Brown was charged with official misconduct and falsely reporting an incident. Following his arrest, he was suspended and relieved of his duties pending the outcome of the investigation.
