In November 2021, Investigator Garrett Willis, a Wasilla resident and trooper since 2003, was arrested on multiple domestic violence assault charges. Investigations revealed instances of domestic violence occurring between 2018 and 2020 against multiple victims. Willis was charged with two counts of Assault II DV, three counts of Assault III DV, and three counts of Assault IV DV. He was placed on leave pending the outcome of the criminal justice process.
