Officer Greg Park was terminated from the Carmel Police Department in February 2011 for multiple violations of department policies. Incidents included arresting a second juvenile against a superior’s order, making a school principal uncomfortable during a conversation, and delivering a written warning to a young woman’s residence, making her mother uneasy. Park had a history of disciplinary issues, including verbal counseling sessions and written reprimands for various infractions. The Indiana Court of Appeals upheld his termination, concluding that the city demonstrated just cause for discharging Park.

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
