In May 2024, Deputy Corrections Officer Gregory Djaoen was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery, one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one count of intimidation of a witness after allegedly assaulting an inmate at the Barnstable County House of Corrections. This incident marked the second time within a year that Djaoen was placed on leave due to pending assault charges. In July 2023, he was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and threats to commit a crime following a road rage incident where he allegedly pointed a gun at another driver. The charges from the 2023 incident were dropped in November 2023.
