Former Justice of the Peace and full-time ‘intelligence officer’ for the Sheriff’s Office, Guidroz was found to have received over $500,000 over 12 years without evidence of work performed. This dual role violated state law. The Judiciary Commission recommended a 180-day suspension, but Guidroz resigned shortly after the recommendation, rendering the suspension moot. The Louisiana Supreme Court ruled he did not have to pay the investigation costs.
