Sergeant Gurule was involved in a May 2017 incident where Robert Moya alleged excessive force during his arrest. Moya claimed that Gurule, along with Officer Aguilar, used unnecessary force, leading to severe injuries. Moya filed a lawsuit against both officers and the City of Clovis.
