    Former Sheriff Jason Booth pleaded guilty in August 2012 to misconduct in office for using a state prison inmate to perform work on his personal property over nearly six years. The inmate constructed an ornate iron gate and a ‘party shed’ for Booth. In return, the inmate received privileges such as conjugal visits with his girlfriend. Booth was sentenced to one year in jail, which was suspended upon payment of a $900 fine and completion of five years probation.
