Deputy Jason O’Neal was terminated in April 2015 for violating department policies by initiating and maintaining a personal relationship with a known drug user, criminal offender, and gang affiliate. O’Neal admitted to giving her money, doing her favors, intercepting, copying, and disclosing her mail, improperly accessing inmate records, and meeting her at his home. He filed a lawsuit alleging violations of his constitutional rights, but the court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendants in October 2017.
